May 26, 2026 – Pennsylvania & Delaware Super Lawyers 2026
John J. Hare, Chair of Marshall Dennehey’s Appellate Advocacy & Post-Trial Practice and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, is featured in the 2026 edition of Pennsylvania & Delaware Super Lawyers Magazine alongside Charles “Chip” Becker of Kline & Specter.
The article, “An Appeal to Collegiality – John Hare and Chip Becker Face Off in Major Appellate Cases and Team Up Everywhere Else,” explores the professional relationship between the two longtime colleagues and frequent courtroom opponents. In 2025 alone, Hare and Becker served as opposing counsel at least eight times, with more than $3.5 billion in jury verdicts and judgments at play.
“It’s not that I’m trying to beat John,” Becker notes. “I’m going to win the case by doing as good a job, or a better job, of presenting my own argument.”
Hare echoes that sentiment: “It’s never personal. No one is ever going to try to make an issue about the opponent, rather than the argument and the law.”
Colleagues describe their relationship as both unique and admirable—an example of professionalism and mutual respect at the highest levels of appellate advocacy. Read the full article here: https://www.superlawyers.com/articles/pennsylvania/an-appeal-to-collegiality/.
