Attorneys obtained a dismissal of plaintiff's complaint on the basis of lack of jurisdiction in a defamation action. Plaintiff, a podiatrist who frequently serves as an expert witness in medical malpractice actions, posted complaints about malpractice premiums on a medical website. The defense podiatrist responded by stating, in essence, that the plaintiff was a cause of rising malpractice rates by offering unfounded opinions critical of other podiatrists and that the plaintiff podiatrist should be referred to the appropriate medical review boards. We argued that the website did not establish jurisdiction in Pennsylvania because the content of the contested postings did not target Pennsylvania.
