Attorney obtained a defense verdict in a case wherein he represented an attending physician and a house physician. A 53 year old female patient was hospitalized and during the course of the admission, she fell. Plaintiffs contended that she suffered a fracture of the hip that was undiagnosed and which led to her death 2 weeks later. The defense was that there was no hip fracture, that there was nothing about the patient's condition that would have made the physicians suspicious for a fracture and that the patient's death was explained by a number of other physical problems she had. The jury found that there was no negligence on the part of either physician.
