Elizabeth B. Ferguson Joins Marshall Dennehey as Shareholder in Jacksonville

Elizabeth B. Ferguson, Esq. has joined Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin as a shareholder in the firm’s Jacksonville office. A member of the Professional Liability Department, she defends clients against claims of liability, breach of contract, construction defect, design defect, delay, liens/bonds, insurance coverage issues, and licensure issues. She also provides transactional support for her construction clients, including contract drafting and review. 

Ms. Ferguson has been a fixture in the Florida legal community for 15 years and is Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar. Her clients include owners, contractors, material suppliers, developers and design professionals such as architects, engineers and surveyors. She has served as a professor of Construction Law and is a frequent speaker on legal issues within the construction industry. 

Actively involved in professional associations, Ms. Ferguson is a Construction Panel Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and currently serves on the Florida Board of Professional Engineers, appointed by Gov. Rick Scott. Additionally, she is a member of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and The Florida Bar Association’s Construction Law Committee as well as the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Board of Governors and Construction Law Section. Since 2009, she has been involved with the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Construction Industry.

Among her many legal achievements, Ms. Ferguson has been named to Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite in 2014 and 2015, and has been selected to the Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars List for Construction Litigation since 2009. She is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.

She received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster and her juris doctor from Indiana University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
