Matthew S. Valocchi

Matthew S. Valocchi is an associate in the Casualty Department handling an array of personal injury defense matters including motor vehicle accidents, premise liability and insurance coverage issues. Matt started with Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in the summer of 2009 as a summer associate in the firm’s Philadelphia office. He continued working with the firm on a part-time basis while he completed his final year at the University of Villanova School of Law where he graduated with honors. Matt is admitted to practice law in the state of Delaware. 

While at Villanova Law, Matt was part of a two-person team which finished fourth out of 80 teams in the school's Reimel Moot Court Competition, having an opportunity to argue in front of practicing attorneys and state and federal judiciary members. He was invited to membership on the school’s Moot Court Board and represented Villanova at the Regent School of Law Moot Court Competition where his team earned the honors of second best brief. 

In addition, Matt is an experienced and nationally certified firefighter and emergency medical technician. His certifications include National Firefighter I and II, Vehicle Rescue Technician, Confined Space Rescue, Hazardous Materials Operations, Incident Command System, Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Technician, and CPR.

Matt has served the community for the past ten years with the Berwyn Fire Company. He has also served on the Berwyn Fire Company’s board of directors since 2006, as EMS captain and currently as vice president. He has received numerous honors for his service, including Firefighter of the Year in 2008 and the Unit Citation for his part on the first in crew in the rescue of numerous trapped residents and extinguishment of an apartment fire. While he completed his undergraduate work at Penn State, his experience allowed him to be part of a two-person EMS crew solely responsible for transporting injured players from The Pennsylvania State University’s Beaver Stadium during home football games.
