Overview
Elizabeth is a member of the Casualty Department where she represents clients in the fields of premises liability, toxic tort litigation, automobile litigation, trucking and transportation litigation, retail liability, and NY Labor Law 240. Her clients include all types of property owners, maintenance companies, construction contractors, retail stores, shipping/trucking companies, and transportation companies, among others. Additionally, she has represented clients in personal injury matters involving mold exposure and breach of warranty of habitability in rental settings.
Elizabeth is part of our Special Investigation practice group, and as such, has extensive experience defending cases involving allegations of fraud at all levels. These cases involve staged accidents, exaggerated injury claims, and fraud rings, as well as improper and fraudulent medical provider billing and reporting. In addition to defending these claims, Elizabeth has also brought declaratory judgment actions against ring participants and suspect medical providers to bar ongoing and future claims.
She also handles a large amount of general liability actions involving both premises and automobile cases. She regularly works with experts and investigators to present the best defenses for her clients. Always looking for ways to cut down on costs and overall case valuations, Elizabeth has succeeded in vetting large Medicaid/Medicare liens, challenging their amounts, and having the liens reduced to mere fractions of their original sums. She was selected as part of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch 2021 inaugural edition, which is awarded to attorneys for outstanding professional excellence in private practice who are earlier in their careers.
Elizabeth graduated from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and received her J.D. in 2017. While at law school, she served as an Associate Editor for the Hofstra Labor & Employment Law Journal and a research assistant for two professors. She earned a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Global Studies from Hofstra University, completing both in three years as part of an accelerated program. In her spare time, Elizabeth serves as a volunteer firefighter in her hometown in Northern New Jersey.
She is admitted in the states of New York and New Jersey, as well as the Eastern District of New York.
