Jeffrey Rapattoni (Cherry Hill, NJ) presented at the International Association of Special Investigators Association's (IASIU) yearly convention in Atlanta, Georgia. His topic was pre-litigation strategy and bad faith. He also presented at the New Jersey Special Investigator Association's (NJSIA) yearly convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey, speaking on several topics facing the insurance industry, including avoiding bad faith. Jeff also gave a presentation at the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigator's (NSPII) yearly convention in Louisville, Kentucky, and spoke on current SIU topics including electronic discovery and proper claims handling.

We are very proud to announce that a current issue of the Physician's News Digest includes an article written by our very own Katherine Keefe (King of Prussia, PA). The article is titled "Hospital-Acquired Condition Payment Rules" and focuses on Never Events rules and new payment methods.

Thomas DeLorenzo (Philadelphia, PA) was recently one of several prominent attorneys interviewed for an article appearing in Nation's Restaurant News, discussing the significance of the decision of the California 4th District Court of Appeal to disallow certification of a class action filed against Brinker International Inc. (Chili's Grill & Bar parent) seeking damages for the class members for alleged violations of wage and hour laws.

Jeffrey Rapattoni (Cherry Hill, NJ) has been asked to serve on the Board of Directors as Counsel to the New Jersey Property Loss and Risk Professional Association. The NJPLRP is an organization designed to serve the needs of large loss property claims throughout the state of New Jersey.

Wilhelm Dingler (Philadelphia, PA) had an article published in the Fall 2008 Pennsylvania CPA Journal entitled "In a Bad Economy, Protect Yourself From Portfolio Collapse Lawsuits."

Tony Natale (Philadelphia, PA) and Frank Wickersham (King of Prussia, PA) presented a workers' compensation case law update at the Pennsylvania Self-Insured Conference in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Robin Romano (Philadelphia, PA) has been elected co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Workers' Compensation section for 2009.

Paul Krepps (Pittsburgh, PA) and Christopher Boyle (King of Prussia, PA) presented a seminar "Law Enforcement Issues and Liability" on behalf of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors and the Delaware Valley Insurance Trust in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Robert Jozwik (Philadelphia, PA) was part of a panel that discussed the Commerce Case Management Protocols for Alternative Disputed Resolution Procedure Using Three Judge Panel and Common Law Arbitration, also known as the "Abramson Protocols," at the 2008 Philadelphia County Bench Bar Conference held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Robert was involved in the first case to be submitted and adjudicated using the Abramson Protocols.

Christopher Santoro (Philadelphia, PA) spoke at Mealey's National Asbestos Litigation Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. Chris spoke on liability for take-home exposure.

James Cole (Doylestown, PA) presented at the October meeting of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Units. Jim's presentation dealt with insurance policy rescission with a focus on the state of the law in light of the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law (MVFRL) and interpreting same.

Joseph Miele (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was a speaker at the recent Comprehensive Construction Defect Claims & Coverage SuperConference sponsored by BVR Legal and Mealey's. He spoke regarding the "Right to Repair."

Aaron Moore (Philadelphia, PA) recently served as a speaker at the Forensic and Litigation Services Conference for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accounts. The presentation focused on the application of the Federal Rules of Evidence, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and the Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure with respect to expert reports and expert testimony of accountants.
