David concentrates his practice in the areas of trucking and construction litigation. The majority of his cases involve fatalities, brain damage, or other catastrophic injuries. He also devotes a sizeable portion of his practice on insurance coverage issues.

David has represented one of the largest global package delivery organizations, a local auto parts industry leader, and a nationally ranked full-service network common carrier, to name a few.

In 1978 David graduated from the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science. He achieved his Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law in 1989.

David is active in the Philadelphia Bar Association and regularly participates as a guest lecturer to attorneys, the claims industry, and at local law schools. He is often requested to act as an arbitrator and mediator. He advocates this type of forum to help clients reduce the cost of litigation.

Significant Representative Matters:

  • Successfully tendered to another defendant to take over defense and indemnification in a high-exposure liability and case that occurred during the construction of Locust Towers in Philadelphia.

  • Successfully had client dismissed without any payment in a matter in which there was a fatality during construction of a water treatment plant in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

  • Successfully defended the original target defendant in a local zoo fire matter the death of 23 primates and a $22 million demand.

  • Successfully defended, without any payment at all, a seven-person fatality that involved a fully occupied SUV and a tractor trailer.  We were hired within hours of the loss and thoroughly investigated the scene, along with an accident reconstruction expert hired by the client, accompanied the driver through the interviews with the police, the District Attorney's office and the police accident reconstruction team.  No charges were brought against the client-driver and the ensuing civil litigation was eventually dropped with no money being paid to anyone by any of our clients.

  • Granted summary judgment in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in a catastrophic construction loss where the demand was in excess of $9 million when the Motion was granted.

  • Successfully defended a commercial vehicle client in a rear-end automobile accident that resulted in two major lower back surgeries to the Plaintiff.  With the assistance of a biomechanical engineer and a neurosurgeon, we were able to prove that the alleged injuries were not related to the automobile accident.  Important to this case was the purchase of the subject vehicle in which the Plaintiff was riding at the time of the accident and recreating the minor impact/low speed accident to show that the injuries were not related.
