Thomas A. Brophy is a graduate of the University of Dayton. Following graduation from college, Mr. Brophy taught high school from 1974 through December, 1979. While continuing to teach, Mr. Brophy attended Temple University School of Law obtaining his Juris Doctorate in January 1981. He has worked at Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin since December 1979 as a paralegal, law clerk and attorney.

Mr. Brophy has handled a variety of litigation matters and has tried cases in the areas of liquor liability, medical malpractice, premises liability and complex products liability. Over the last ten years, he has concentrated his practice on medical malpractice and product liability matters. He also continues to represent the Anheuser-Busch Companies in matters in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Mr. Brophy became a shareholder at Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in 1986 while managing the firm's Norristown, PA office. In 1989, he assumed responsibility for overseeing the firm's expansion throughout the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Mr. Brophy was elected to the firm's Board of Directors in December 1996. In 1999 he was elected to the firm's three member Executive Committee. Presently he oversees the firm's Casualty Litigation Group.  In 2005, Mr. Brophy assumed his present role as President and CEO of the firm.

Mr. Brophy is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, The United States District Court for the Eastern District and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and The United States Supreme Court.  He has lectured extensively for organizations including the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, the Philadelphia Claims Managers Association, the Pennsylvania Claims Association The Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Montgomery Bar Association.  He has been a member of the Medical Legal Committees of the Montgomery and Philadelphia Bar Associations and has served as Chairof the Federal Practice Committee of the Montgomery Bar Association.  He is a diplomat of the American Board of Trial Advocates and serves as a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council, the Defense Research Institute, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.  He is listed in the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions of The Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. Brophy has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 in the area of Civil Litigation Defense.
