Robert joined MDWCG in 2008, where he will concentrate his practice on maritime, environmental, and international commercial litigation. He brings to his practice 16 years of litigation experience, including five years as an Assistant Prosecutor in Union County, New Jersey; in private practice in New York City representing classification societies, cruise lines, ship owners, and operators and terminal operators in litigation, arbitration and appeals; and as a partner in the Geraghty Law Firm in Hackensack, New Jersey, a firm whose practice was exclusively maritime, admiralty. and domestic/international intermodal litigation. Throughout his career, Robert has represented numerous cruise lines, maritime terminals and operators, and vessel owners and operators, and classification societies in a variety of actions in the state and federal courts. He has significant vessel casualty and environmental spill litigation experience. Robert also has significant class action litigation experience, having defended class actions brought against ferry lines under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Robert earned his B.A. Degree from Rutgers College in 1988, and his J.D. Degree from Temple University School of Law in 1992, where he was a member of the Environmental and Technology Law Journal.
