Melissa concentrates her practice on defending claims made against professionals including lawyers, accountants, directors and officers, and insurance agents and brokers.  Having prior corporate transactional experience and an MS in Taxation, Melissa also brings a unique perspective to the defense of corporate litigation matters.  Melissa additionally represents architects and engineers in a variety of professional liability and construction defect matters. Since joining the firm, Melissa has also successfully handled toxic tort, premises liability, and automobile liability litigation by achieving victories both in court and at arbitration.

Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Melissa was an associate with Phillips, Goldman & Spence, P.A. where she represented clients in numerous types of litigation including, but not limited to: residential and commercial real estate; land use; employment law; construction defect; and, bankruptcy.

Melissa received her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003. While at Georgetown, she served as a delegate to the Student Bar Association. Prior to enrolling in law school, Melissa obtained her MS in Taxation from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. While in business school, Melissa was awarded the Ernst & Young Fellowship and served as President of the Master of Accountancy/ Master of Taxation Students' Association.
