Judith M. Kinney Wilmington, Delaware
Judith Kinney, an Associate in the Professional Liability section of the Wilmington Office of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin, is a graduate of Temple University School of Law, where she was a member of the Temple Law Review and graduated Summa Cum Laude and ranked First in her class. Prior to law school, she received a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from Rutgers College of Pharmacy and has been a Registered Pharmacist in Pennsylvania, actively practicing as a hospital pharmacist since 1984.
Ms. Kinney has extensive experience as a civil litigator in both federal and state courts. After a two year clerkship for the Hon. Murray M. Schwartz, U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Delaware, she worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Delaware County District Attorney's office. Following that, she was an Assistant United States Attorney in for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Delaware, where she practiced as a defense litigator in the areas of medical malpractice, torts, civil rights/law enforcement liability, and employment discrimination. As a federal prosecutor, she also developed a significant affirmative civil practice in prosecutions of civil rights, environmental, antitrust, and veteran's rights cases, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She also served as local counsel for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and assisted in numerous prosecutions on behalf of that agency. Upon entering private practice, she leveraged her expertise in the pharmaceutical industry to represent several major pharmaceutical companies in product liability and mass tort litigation. Ms. Kinney has also represented financial institutions as defense counsel in various consumer lending, class action and real property litigation, and also has experience in construction litigation. Her most recent area of special focus relates to Electronic Discovery, an area in which she has lectured extensively and is currently a member of the Board of the Philadelphia chapter of Women in E Discovery, a working group the meets regularly to promote the exchange of ideas regarding electronic discovery.
